Loaded Software

Here at CPR, we don't believe in loading loads of software onto a new laptop (AKA Bloatware). Only the operating system and brand-related apps are downloaded. The Office 365 app can be installed directly from the Microsoft store or website.

Battery Condition

Battery life varies depending on how the laptop is used. Activities such as video streaming, video conferencing, gaming, installing Windows updates, running multiple applications, or using high screen brightness will consume more power than lighter tasks such as web browsing or working with documents. Because every user's workload is different, it is not possible to accurately predict or guarantee a specific battery runtime.
As part of our refurbishment process, every laptop undergoes a full specification check, which includes approximately 20 minutes of testing under normal operating conditions. Before testing, the battery is fully charged and monitored to ensure it reaches its maximum available charge. This allows us to accurately determine the battery's current full charge capacity. We then compare the battery's current full charge capacity with its original design capacity to calculate its health percentage using the following formula: **Battery Health (%) = (Current Full Charge Capacity ÷ Original Design Capacity) × 100
To ensure accuracy, we verify this information using both the built-in Windows Battery Report and BatteryInfoView. The battery health percentage shown in the listing is based on these reported values and provides an objective indication of the battery's condition at the time of testing. Once testing is complete, all browsing history, temporary files and testing software are removed before the laptop is prepared for sale.
Please note that rechargeable batteries are consumable components, and their performance naturally decreases with age and use. While every battery we sell has passed our testing process, we cannot guarantee a specific battery runtime or future battery lifespan, as this will vary depending on usage, power settings, installed software and the applications being run. If you wish to maximise battery performance in the future, replacement batteries are available for many models, subject to availability.

Safety and security are important to us. Before any computer is shipped, we will have cleansed the hard drive, including previous boot sectors, thus eliminating any previously installed software. Following this, every computer is scanned at a deep level, Looking for all known viruses, including spyware and adware. Then and only then will a PC be reinstalled with the appropriate operating system and refurbished for sale.

Warranty

Here at CPR, we offer a 3-month warranty with all desktop and laptop computers over £250 and sold as refurbished. The first 30 days are parts and labour service, with the remaining time being labour only. This service is a back-to-base, with the cost of returning an item being the customer's responsibility. Once a machine has been refurbished, it goes through extensive testing to ensure no hidden problems are there. As such, we are confident that the computers we sell are of excellent quality and reliability when shipped.
